​Located in King City, which is part of the southern Salinas Valley of the California Central Coast, Chalone Peaks Middle School is named after the North and South Chalone Peaks, part of the spectacular Pinnacles National Park. Chalone Peaks Middle School, situated in a rural region that is largely agricultural, opened its doors in its current location in 2007.

Schedule: Seven classes meet approximately 50 minutes per day, five days a week, 18 weeks per semester, two semesters per year, including homeroom and exploratory classes.

Curriculum

CPMS curriculum is designed to meet the various interests and needs of the students by preparing them for the 21st Century in today’s global society by offering a rigorous program that includes SWUN Math for Math and StudySync for Language Arts. Homeroom and Exploratory classes offer a variety of opportunities for student enrichment and language development.

Instruction: available for special needs through Special Education and English Language Development

Co-curricular Programs: Minecraft, yearbook, band, leadership, and athletics

Co-Curricular Activities: Students are encouraged to join clubs, sports teams, and campus organizations to promote leadership and service
